BEING IN THE SHADOW is an Australian-based consultancy providing global expertise and guidance related to the total solar eclipse
BEING IN THE SHADOW – History
BEING IN THE SHADOW commenced in Belfast in 2011 originally as a research project and website focused on the total solar eclipse experience. Kate’s work quickly gained attention, leading to media appearances, lecture invitations, tour leader requests, and event management. Over time, her focus expanded to eclipse planning, including workshops, community visits, consultations, and providing thought leadership in this niche area.
After relocating from Belfast, Kate formally established BEING IN THE SHADOW as an Australian-based global consultancy in early 2022.
With a background in psychology, consulting, and research, BEING IN THE SHADOW offers both Zoom and in-person workshops, presentations, and strategic consultations for communities within the path of totality. Clients include Chambers of Commerce, local and state governments, tourism boards, tour operators, community groups, and private industry.
